Stephen F. Austin defeats North Dakota 65-31

Sep 27, 2009 - 3:31 AM NACOGDOCHES, Texas(AP) -- Vincent Pervis rushed for 154 yards and Tyrone Ross added 120 and a touchdown to help Stephen F. Austin defeat North Dakota 65-31 Saturday night.

The Lumberjacks (3-1) jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead when quarterback Jeremy Moses found senior Aaron Rhea from 17 yards out. The Fighting Sioux (1-2) answered right back when Ismael Bamba returned the ensuing kickoff 95 yards for a TD.

SFA then built a 42-24 first-half lead as Tyrone Ross ran for 2- and 6-yard touchdowns and Jeremy Moses connected with Brandon Scott and Graly Crawford on 9- and 14-yard TD passes.

Dominique Hawkins scored for North Dakota on a 12-yard interception return, and Bamba caught a 24-yard TD pass from Jake Landry.

The Lumberjacks continued building their lead in the second half, finishing the night with 643 yards of total offense while holding the Fighting Sioux to 299 yards.
