Savannah St. 21, Concordia College 23

Sep 27, 2009 - 5:04 AM AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) -- Harrison Ellison kicked a 35-yard field goal as time expired to lift Concordia-Selma to a 23-21 victory over Savannah State on Saturday in the Southern Georgia Heritage Classic.

Larry Kerlegan was 29-for-44 for 323 yards and three touchdowns for the Hornets, the last a 6-yarder to A.J. Ward. The point-after attempt was blocked with 5:14 left and the Tigers led 21-20.

Ellison lined up the winning kick with 4.8 seconds left. Savannah State (1-3) called a time out, then Ellison hit the game-winner.

Concordia-Selma (2-3), a Division II school, outgained Savannah State 376-259.

A.J. DeFilippis led the Tigers with 95 yards passing and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 41 yards.

Justin Babb scored for Savannah State on a 13-yard run and on a 14-yard pass from DeFilippis.
