New Hampshire beats Villanova 28-24

Oct 19, 2009 - 2:05 PM DURHAM, N.H. (AP) -- Tom Manning kicked two field goals in the fourth quarter and New Hampshire beat Villanova 28-24 on Saturday.

Manning kicked a 35-yarder to give New Hampshire (5-0, 2-0 Colonial Athletic Association) a 25-24 lead early in the fourth quarter and added a 22-yarder with 4:11 to play.

New Hampshire's R.J. Toman went 15-for-18 for 292 yards, including a 32-yard touchdown pass to Scott Sicko.

New Hampshire has won three of the past four games in the series.

Matt Szczur scored two touchdowns with 66 yards rushing and 83 yards receiving for Villanova (5-1, 2-1). He scored on a 58-yard run and on a 26-yard pass from Chris Whitney.

Villanova is the first team this season to score more than 16 points against New Hampshire.
