Mike Davis caught five passes for 124 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's win, while Marquise Goodwin had 102 yards and a score on two catches.
"I think our guys were extremely motivated and came out and played well," said Texas coach Mack Brown. "Our defense set the tone early and our offense followed. We gave up several big plays, but overall we played well."
Bo Wallace completed 13-of-24 passes for 178 yards with a touchdown and three interceptions -- two by Quandre Diggs -- for the Rebels (2-1).
Donte Moncrief caught seven passes for 144 yards and one touchdown in the loss and Jeff Scott had 95 yards and a score on eight carries.
Despite the loss, Ole Miss has already matched its win total from last season.
In all, Texas racked up 350 rushing yards on 54 carries. Goodwin added to the total with 80 yards and a score on two rushes, while Johnathan Gray chipped in 50 yards and Joe Bergeron had 48.
Steve Edmond returned an interception 22 yards for a touchdown to open the scoring for the Longhorns and Nick Jordan later added a 31-yard field goal for a 10-0 lead entering the second quarter.
Randall Mackey capped an 89-yard drive with a short touchdown burst to get the Rebels on the board but Goodwin answered back with a 69-yard scoring scamper.
Midway through the second quarter, Bryson Rose made a 39-yard field goal to make it 17-10, but Texas closed the half with a pair of scores to grab control.
First, Ash led the Longhorns on an 81-yard march, which he capped with a three-yard touchdown toss to D.J. Grant.
Diggs then came up with his first interception four plays later and the Longhorns converted that into Ryan Roberson's short scoring grab shortly before halftime for a 31-10 lead.
The teams traded blows in the third quarter, but Texas comfortably held Ole Miss at bay.
D.J. Monroe opened the second held with a 10-yard touchdown run to extend the Longhorns' lead, but Wallace answered with a 75-yard scoring bomb to Moncrief.
On the ensuing drive, Ash hit Davis with a 45-yard pass to the 8-yard line and Brown crossed the plane with a short run three plays later to make it 45-17.
Scott responded with an impressive run when he took a handoff in the backfield, lost his shoe at the line of scrimmage, and escaped up the sideline for a 48-yard touchdown.
Texas capped the third quarter with a 46-yard touchdown connection between Ash and Davis and Diggs' second interception.
Brown opened the fourth with a 12-yard scoring run before Jaylen Walton returned the ensuing kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown. The returner burst up the sideline, stopped near midfield to elude several defenders, then cut inside and raced the rest of the way for the score.
Ash sealed the final result on the next drive with a 55-yard touchdown pass to Goodwin.
"The game was won up front, and our offense dominated this game," said Ash. "That was the reason we were able to be successful. That's why we've been playing really well."
