McGee looks to push Texas A&M past Fresno State

Sep 8, 2007 - 10:29 AM Fresno State (1-0) at No. 23 Texas A&M (1-0) 3:30 pm EDT

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (Ticker) - Stephen McGee and 25th-ranked Texas A&M aim for another solid offensive performance Saturday when they host Fresno State.

The versatile McGee was the driving force in the Aggies' 38-7 victory over Montana State on Saturday. The junior rushed for 121 yards and two touchdowns - including a 65-yard scoring jaunt - and also passed for 112 yards.

Mike Goodson and Jorvorskie Lane both added rushing TDs for Texas A&M, which won convincingly despite yielding 403 yards of total offense.

The Aggies likely will need a better defensive performance this Saturday against the Bulldogs, who reeled off 266 rushing yards in last weekend's 24-3 triumph over Sacramento State.

Tom Brandstater completed 16-of-27 passes for 199 yards and one TD while Lonyae Miller rushed for 57 yards and a score for Fresno State, which won despite losing three fumbles.

Saturday's contest marks the first meeting between the Aggies and Bulldogs. Texas A&M is 11-0 all-time against schools currently in the Western Athletic Conference.
