Alabama looks for another big SEC win vs. Georgia

Sep 22, 2007 - 12:38 PM No. 22 Georgia (2-1) at No. 16 Alabama (3-0) 7:45 pm EDT

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama (Ticker) -- Nick Saban can do no wrong in the eyes of Alabama fans.

After a dramatic victory, Saban's 16th-ranked Crimson Tide host No. 22 Georgia in a Southeastern Conference matchup on Saturday.

Last weekend, Alabama (3-0, 1-0 SEC West) blew a 21-point lead before rallying past then-No. 16 Arkansas, 41-38, to remain undefeated under their new coach.

John Parker Wilson threw a four-yard touchdown to Matt Caddell with eight seconds left for the Crimson Tide, who won despite allowing Darren McFadden to rush for 195 yards and two TDs.

Wilson set career highs with 327 passing yards and four TDs in the win.

Georgia (2-1, 0-1 East) bounced back from a 16-12 loss to South Carolina with a 45-16 rout of Western Carolina in the finale of a three-game homestand.

Matthew Stafford tossed a pair of second-quarter TDs for the Bulldogs, who looked sluggish early against the Football Championship Subdivision team before pulling away.

The teams have not met since 2003, when Georgia posted a 37-23 home win. The Bulldogs scored all of their points in the first half of that contest.
