Notre Dame looks to continue dominating Air Force

Nov 7, 2006 - 9:12 PM No. 9 Notre Dame (8-1) at Air Force (4-4), 4:00 pm EST

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (Ticker) -- Ninth-ranked Notre Dame continues its tour of the service academies when it visits Air Force on Saturday.

This will be the middle of three contests against the military schools for the Fighting Irish, who posted a 38-14 win over Navy - their NCAA-record 43rd straight triumph in the rivalry - on October 28 and host Army next week.

Notre Dame has won the last two meetings and 10 of 11 against Air Force, with the lone defeat in that span a 20-17 overtime setback in South Bend in 1996.

Last year, the Irish posted a 21-14 triumph at Falcon Stadium.

Notre Dame (8-1) won its sixth straight game with a 45-26 home win over North Carolina last Saturday.

Brady Quinn continued his push for the Heisman Trophy by completing 23-of-35 passes for 346 yards and four touchdowns without an interception. On the season, the senior has gone 216-of-338 for 2,579 yards, 25 TDs and four interceptions.

Air Force (4-4) snapped a two-game skid with a 43-7 road rout of Army last Friday.

The Falcons converted five first-half turnovers by the Black Knights into 34 points, including a 98-yard fumble return for a touchdown by linebacker Adam Zanotti.
