USC looks to extend home streaks vs. Oregon

Nov 7, 2006 - 9:30 PM No. 21 Oregon (7-2) at No. 7 USC (7-1), 10:15 pm EST

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) - Oregon will be hard-pressed to topple Southern California at the Los Angeles Coliseum this weekend.

The 21st-ranked Ducks hope to avoid becoming the seventh-ranked Trojans' 31st consecutive victim here when the Pac-10 Conference rivals meet on Saturday.

USC's home winning streak and 21-game conference tear are both Pac-10 records.

The Trojans (7-1, 5-1 Pac-10) responded from a shocking 33-31 loss at Oregon State with a 42-0 thrashing of Stanford in Palo Alto last weekend. First-year starter John David Booty produced his fifth three-touchdown passing performance of the campaign for USC, which has scored 63 unanswered points over its last two contests.

In order to have a realistic shot at a fifth straight Pac-10 title, the Trojans must defeat the Ducks (7-2, 4-2), who are coming off a 34-14 home win over Washington.

Jonathan Stewart rushed for 159 yards and two touchdowns for Oregon, which is visiting USC for the first time since 2000. The past three meetings were in Eugene.

USC has won the last two matchups, including a 45-13 romp last year, after dropping the previous four.
