Cardinals rout Broncos in preseason finale

Sep 2, 2011 - 5:27 AM Glendale, AZ (Sports Network) - Richard Bartel passed for 216 yards and two touchdowns and the Arizona Cardinals rolled to a 26-7 win over the Denver Broncos on Thursday in the preseason finale.

Denver scored its only points of the game on Tim Tebow's 43-yard touchdown pass to Eron Riley in the fourth quarter.

Starter Kevin Kolb threw two passes for the Cardinals, giving way to the backups early on. Bartel went 12-for-16 and also threw an interception, while Brodie Croyle was 10-of-16 for 104 yards.

Bartel threw touchdown passes for 19 yards to LaRod Stephens-Howling and 48 yards to Chansi Stuckey in the first quarter. Jay Feely kicked four field goals between the second and fourth quarters, including one from 52 yards.

Brady Quinn struggled, going 4-of-12 for 26 yards for Denver, while Adam Weber completed an 89-yard pass to Riley in the final minute.

On the previous Broncos possession, Tebow stepped up into the pocket and hit Riley in stride near the goal line for a touchdown.

Matt Prater missed a 60-yard field goal try for Denver in the third quarter.

The Broncos open the regular season at home against Oakland in a late Monday night game September 12, while the Cardinals start Sunday against Carolina at home.
