Ben Roethlisberger played the first half, ending up 8-of-11 for 128 yards and tossing first-quarter touchdown strikes to Antonio Brown and Markus Wheaton. Brown led all receivers with 93 yards on just a pair of catches.

E.J. Manuel finished 17-of-27 for 148 yards and one interception for the Bills. Anthony Dixon rushed 10 times for 26 yards and Buffalo's lone TD, a one-yard run in the third quarter. Fred Jackson led the club with seven grabs for 28 yards.

Rookie wideout Sammy Watkins left the game with a rib injury on his club's opening possession and did not return. Bills head coach Doug Marrone confirmed following the game that it was a rib contusion.

The hosts' winning score was set up when Bills reserve QB Jeff Tuel was sacked and coughed up the ball at his own 33. Howard Jones recovered on the Buffalo 20 and returned it to the one.

Bruce Gradkowski then was pushed back a yard before Suisham pushed his kick through the uprights.
