Packers edge Chiefs in preseason finale

Sep 2, 2011 - 3:23 AM Green Bay, WI (Sports Network) - Vic So'oto picked off a Tyler Palko pass and returned it 33 yards for a go-ahead touchdown in the third quarter, lifting the Green Bay Packers past the Kansas City Chiefs, 20-19, in the final preseason tuneup for both teams.

Aaron Rodgers threw an eight-yard touchdown pass to Tom Crabtree in his only series for the Packers, who open the NFL schedule next Thursday when they host the New Orleans Saints in a battle of the last two Super Bowl champions.

Matt Cassel played extended minutes and exited after taking a big hit by Packers defensive lineman Howard Green late in the second quarter. Cassel completed 15-of-17 passes for 129 yards and threw a touchdown to Dexter McCluster, who totaled 66 yards from scrimmage.

Dwayne Bowe caught eight balls for 85 yards, and his two-yard TD grab gave the Chiefs a 16-7 halftime lead.

Kansas City begins its regular season at home against the Buffalo Bills on September 11.
