Cowboys' Murray doubtful to return

Nov 16, 2012 - 10:01 PM Irving, TX (Sports Network) - DeMarco Murray will likely miss a fifth straight game when the Dallas Cowboys take on the Cleveland Browns this Sunday, with the team declaring the second-year running back doubtful due to a lingering sprained left foot.

Murray sat out the entire week's practice schedule and hasn't been active since sustaining the injury in Dallas' 31-29 loss at Baltimore on Oct. 14. It's unclear as to when he'll be back in action, since the Cowboys will have a short week before hosting Washington on Thanksgiving Day in its following game.

Felix Jones is expected to again replace Murray, who rushed for 330 yards and a touchdown while adding 17 receptions over the first five games of the season.

Jones compiled 93 total yards (71 rushing, 22 receiving) during last Sunday's 38-23 win at Philadelphia, one week after accumulating 109 total yards (39 rushing, 70 receiving) in a road loss to Atlanta.

The Cowboys ruled out three players -- starting center Phil Costa (ankle), defensive end Sean Lissemore (ankle) and safety Matt Johnson (hamstring) for the Cleveland game. In addition, backup center Ryan Cook and cornerback Mike Jenkins are listed as doubtful with knee and back injuries, respectively.
