Browns look to bounce back from loss at New England

CLEVELAND (Ticker) -- Through the first five games of the season, the Cleveland Browns have alternated wins and losses.

The Browns will try to continue that trend on Sunday when they host the Miami Dolphins, who are one of the NFL's three winless teams.

Cleveland is coming off a 34-17 loss to the New England Patriots in coach Romeo Crennel's return to Foxboro.

Crennel served as defensive coordinator under New England coach Bill Belichick from 2001-2004, but could not devise a game plan to slow down the rampaging Patriots.

The Browns could have more success against the struggling Dolphins, who still have not given first-year coach Cam Cameron his initial victory.

Miami suffered a heart-breaking defeat last week as Kris Brown kicked a 57-yard field goal with one second remaining to give the Houston Texans a 22-19 victory.

It was the eighth straight loss for Miami, which has not won since blanking New England, 21-0, in Week 14 last season.

Miami quarterback Trent Green suffered a concussion in the game, putting the future of the 37-year-old quarterback in jeopardy. Green was knocked unconscious and carted off the field.

Cleo Lemon, who replaced Green last week, will make just his second career start against the Browns. Lemon played in four games for the Dolphins last season, passing for 929 yards and two touchdowns.

Derek Anderson has sparked the Browns' offense, passing for 1,251 yards, the league's seventh-best total. But Anderson struggled against the Patriots' rugged defense as he was intercepted twice in the first half by Junior Seau.

With an inexperienced quarterback starting for Miami, the Browns will be looking for improved play from their secondary. Cleveland already has allowed 15 touchdown passes this season after giving up 20 all of last year.

The Browns rank 31st against the pass and have managed only four sacks and three interceptions.

In their last visit to Cleveland in 2005, the Dolphins were blanked, 22-0. Miami was held to 55 yards passing and 194 overall.
