Eagles, Bills look to reach .500
Dec 30, 2007 - 11:24 AM Buffalo (7-8) at Philadelphia (7-8) 1:00 pm ESTPHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- If his performance the last two weeks is any indication, Donovan McNabb may still have a future in Philadelphia.
The Eagles look to close out a disappointing season with a three-game winning streak when they host the Buffalo Bills on Sunday in a battle of teams hoping to reach .500.
While the Bills would be satisfied with a .500 finish, the Eagles have underachieved in a year in which they were expected to contend for the NFC East title.
Still, McNabb's performance since returning from a two-game absence due to an ankle injury has provided at least a glimmer of hope for Philadelphia.
The Eagles followed up their upset of the Dallas Cowboys two weeks ago with a 38-23 victory over the New Orleans Saints last week. McNabb completed 24-of-35 passes for 263 yards and three touchdowns.
"It's good that now we are clicking out there and I hope we can use this winning feeling into next year," said McNabb, who has been the subject of trade rumors.
Brian Westbrook, the NFL's leader in yards from scrimmage, rushed for 100 yards on 17 carries. Westbrook has run for 1,291 yards this year, the fourth-best single-season total in Eagles' history.
The Bills' hopes for a winning season were dashed with a 38-21 loss to the New York Giants, a game in which they squandered a 14-0 first-quarter lead.
A victory over Philadelphia will give Buffalo its first non-losing season since going 9-7 in 2004.
