Ducks sink Sharks on Visnovsky's winner in OT

Nov 10, 2010 - 7:49 AM San Jose, CA (Sports Network) - Lubomir Visnovsky scored the game-winner 4:27 into overtime to lift the Anaheim Ducks to a 3-2 victory over San Jose at the Shark Tank.

Corey Perry and Jason Blake scored in regulation for Anaheim, which has won four straight games. Jonas Hiller finished with 39 saves in the victory.

"We found a way to play together. We didn't play at our best, but we found a way to win," Hiller said.

Devin Setoguchi and Torrey Mitchell scored for the Sharks, who fell to 1-2-1 in their last four overall. Antero Niittymaki allowed three goals on 20 shots in the losing effort.

The result of a play in which it appeared that an interference minor should have been called on the Ducks was an icing on the Sharks. The faceoff came back down to the Ducks' offensive zone and Visnovsky corralled the puck, drifted toward the centerpoint and unloaded a slap shot through heavy traffic in front and it found the back of the net.

"I can't touch the puck if I'm laying on my back," Setoguchi said of the non- call. "Maybe they missed one there, but what are you going to do. It's just the way it happens."

Mitchell's second goal opened the scoring only 1:42 after the opening faceoff. Ryan Clowe, from the right rear boards, slid a nifty pass into the right circle, where Mitchell was all alone and lit the lamp with a wrister.

Near the midpoint of the first period, Anaheim tied it up on a Blake deflection. Toni Lydman unleashed a shot from the left point and Blake got his stick on it from the top of the crease and tipped it past Niittymaki.

At the 8:27 mark of the second frame, the visitors moved ahead 2-1 via Perry's sixth goal of the season. Bobby Ryan's shot from the right slot was saved, but the rebound was not held. From the inner rim of the lower left circle, Perry's spinning turnaround backhander sailed into the top of the far side of the net.

Shortly after a San Jose power play ended near the midpoint of the third, Setoguchi followed the rebound of his initial shot and buried his second goal from the left circle. After a flurry of shots against Hiller, including two golden opportunities by Clowe, Setoguchi finally put the disc into the back of the cage after a Dan Boyle shot from the slot missed the net.
