bones one off-the-wall theory i saw on espn was that Bettman allowed it because there's some kind of movement to make playoff overtime like the regular season - i.e 4v4 and shootout. Which of course, would just be plain insanity - there's nothing quite like sudden death playoff hockey (5 OT Flyers/Pens game anyone? =).
