Hurricanes aim for fifth consecutive win

RALEIGH, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Erik Cole and the Carolina Hurricanes will see if they can get the best of the Florida Panthers once again.

The Hurricanes seek their fifth straight win and second against the Panthers in four days when the Southeast Division clubs meet Tuesday.

The defending Stanley Cup champions, Carolina notched its fourth win in a row with a 3-2 overtime victory over Florida on Saturday. The Hurricanes rallied from an early two-goal deficit, tying the score on a goal by Justin Williams with 3:47 left in the second period.

Cole tallied the game-winner in the extra session, extending his points streak to five games for Carolina, which has won its last six games against division foes.

The Panthers had won their previous three games before Saturday's contest.

Florida, which posted a 6-3 victory over Carolina on October 11 in the only other meeting this season, has won its last two road games, including a 7-3 win at the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday.

Gary Roberts scored two goals in the win over the Maple Leafs and has four tallies and six points in his last four games.
