Calgary seeks eighth straight win at home

CALGARY, Alberta (Ticker) -- Only four teams have left the Pengrowth Saddledome with a victory this season. The Vancouver Canucks already have a pair under their belts.

With just five losses in 26 games in their building, the Calgary Flames look to extend their home winning streak to eight Saturday when they host the Northwest Division-rival Canucks.

Calgary has not fallen at home since January 2, when Vancouver escaped with a 3-2 victory. In fact, since dropping two in a row here in late October, the Flames have gone 19-2-0 at the Saddledome - including a franchise-record 10-game home winning streak from November 7-December 26 - with both losses coming to the Canucks.

Sparked by the return of Jarome Iginla, Calgary stretched its home winning run to seven games Friday with a 6-2 triumph over Columbus. The Flames' captain, who missed the previous 11 contests with a sprained right MCL, came back with a vengeance, recording a goal and two assists vs. the Blue Jackets.

Defenseman Robyn Regehr and Kristian Huselius also had impressive outings, collecting a tally and two assists apiece. Regehr's goal was his first since March 23, a span of 62 games, while Huselius' first assist of the night extended his career-high points streak to 11 games.

Tied with Calgary atop the Northwest standings with 62 points, Vancouver enters Saturday's matchup having won two of its last three games, including a 5-3 home triumph over Edmonton on Thursday. But the Canucks have excelled on the road of late, earning at least a point in each of their last seven contests away from home (6-0-1).

Vancouver, which is 11-1-3 in its last 15 games overall, is 4-2-0 against Calgary this season.
