Bruins continue seven-game road trip

PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- The Boston Bruins continue their seven-game road trip when they visit the Philadelphia Flyers on Monday night.

Third in the NHL behind Minnesota and Buffalo in shootout victories, Boston has won eight of 11 shootout contests, including a 4-3 victory at Buffalo on Saturday. Petr Tenkrat scored in the eighth round of the shootout for the Bruins.

Despite their success in shootouts, the Bruins remain in 12th place in the Eastern Conference, eight points behind Toronto for the eighth and final playoff spot. They lost to the New York Islanders to start the trip before winning at Buffalo.

Philadelphia defeated the New York Rangers, 5-3, on Saturday as Simon Gagne registered a goal and an assist.

The Flyers are 1-1-4 with two ties in their last eight home games against Boston.
