Stars look to continue point streak vs. sliding Sharks

DALLAS (Ticker) -- The Dallas Stars look to continue their stellar point streak when they take on a struggling division rival.

The Stars aim to earn a point in their eighth consecutive game Sunday when they host the sliding San Jose Sharks in a Pacific Division clash.

It would be a significant streak for Dallas, which has not notched a point in eight straight games since recording one in nine consecutive contests from January 23-February 9, 2006.

Despite picking up a point on Friday, Dallas dropped a 3-2 shootout decision to Columbus. Marty Turco made 22 saves for the Stars, who are in second place in the division and fifth in the Western Conference.

Turco has played well recently, notching a 3-0-2 mark in his last five starts. He has been stellar in net against San Jose as well, going 5-2-0 in seven games against the Sharks this season.

Dallas has won five of its last seven meetings against the Sharks, who have lost a season-high four straight games, including a 3-1 loss to Anaheim on Friday.

San Jose hopes to avoid its first five-game losing streak since dropping 10 straight from November 5-30, 2005.
