Flames aim for fifth straight victory

ST. LOUIS (Ticker) -- If the performance of their two most important players is an indication, the Calgary Flames will need to have home-ice advantage in the playoffs.

The Flames shoot for their fifth straight win when they visit the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday.

Flames captain Jarome Iginla has been outstanding at home, scoring 50 points in just 29 games. But on the road, he has 23 points in 25 contests.

The same is true for reigning Vezina Trophy winner Miikka Kiprusoff, who is 25-6-1 with a 1.92 goals-against average at home. On the road, he is just 7-12-7 with a 2.91 GAA.

Iginla scored his team-leading 31st goal Saturday to pace Calgary to a 4-2 victory at Edmonton.

The Flames are tied for second with Minnesota in the tight Northwest Division, two points behind Vancouver.

The Blues are 6-1-1 in their last eight games but are barely alive in the West, 13 points out of the last playoff spot.

St. Louis squandered a two-goal deficit Saturday in a 3-2 shootout loss to the New York Rangers.
