Lightning down Jets behind Roloson's shutout

Oct 30, 2011 - 4:18 AM Tampa, FL (Sports Network) - Dwayne Roloson stopped 28 shots for his first shutout of the season as Tampa Bay handed Winnipeg a 1-0 defeat at St. Pete Times Forum.

Vincent Lecavalier scored the lone goal of the game off assists from Steven Stamkos and Eric Brewer for the Lightning, who have won four of their last five.

Ondrej Pavelec stopped 26 shots in the loss for the Jets, who have dropped four of their last six games.

"We're going through a tough stretch right now, but we'll get things together here," said Pavelec.

Winnipeg was coming off the highest scoring game in close to 16 years, a 9-8 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday.

The only goal of the game came in the second period with Tampa on the power play when Stamkos blasted a one-timer from the left point that saw the puck kick out to the right circle and Lecavalier wrist it home with 40 seconds left in the frame.

Roloson, who made 17 stops through the first two periods, made the shutout stand up with 11 saves in the final period.

"To be honest with you, our guys blocked a lot of shots in front of me," Roloson said. "They did some things in our end that me see the puck real well."
