Stars, Kings meet in early season rematch
Oct 14, 2006 - 3:38 PM Dallas (3-0-0) at Los Angeles (2-2-0) 10:30 pm EDTLOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- The Dallas Stars hope to stay unbeaten when they meet the Pacific Division rival Los Angeles Kings in an early season rematch.
The Stars defeated the Kings, 4-1, on Thursday in the first of back-to-back games here.
Dallas' Marty Turco was sharp in turning aside 32 of 33 shots while Eric Lindros had three assists. Brenden Morrow and Mike Modano, playing on a line with Lindros, each chipped in with a goal and an assist.
Turco is 3-0-0 with a 1.32 goals-against average and a .956 save percentage.
The Kings, who had their two-game winning streak snapped, got their only goal from defenseman Raitis Ivanans while Dan Cloutier stopped 25 shots. Rookie center Anze Kopitar, who had six points in his first three games, was blanked by the Stars.
Los Angeles failed on eight power-play opportunities and is only 4-for-37 (10.8 percent) this season.
