Pens shoot for sweep of set with Blue Jackets

Nov 2, 2013 - 3:10 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - The Pittsburgh Penguins look to match their longest winning streak of the season on Saturday night when they complete a home-and- home series with the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The Penguins head to Ohio after winning last night's meeting in Pittsburgh 4-2. Four different Pens skaters scored goals to back Marc-Andre Fleury's solid effort.

Fleury made 37 saves and didn't yield his first goal until 10:04 left in the second period and his club already up 4-0.

"I thought Fleury was, without question, the best player on the ice tonight," said Pittsburgh head coach Dan Bylsma. "He made some very strong saves in that first period and he was the difference in the game."

Jayson Megna, Kris Letang, Brandon Sutter and Chris Kunitz all scored for the Penguins, who have won three straight after dropping three in a row. They had won a season-high four consecutive games from Oct. 12-19 before that skid.

Evgeni Malkin had two assists for Pittsburgh and Sidney Crosby had one, his league-leading 22nd point of the season.

Derek MacKenzie and Ryan Johansen scored for the Blue Jackets, who have dropped their past two games.

"I thought we did a lot of good things and that's why it's so frustrating," said Johansen. "We're doing these good things against good teams and just not finding a way to win."

Sergei Bobrovsky struggled in the start, giving up three goals on 13 shots before being pulled early in the second period for Curtis McElhinney, who gave up a goal on 14 shots the rest of the way.

The Penguins have now won four of their last five versus the Blue Jackets and 10 of the 15 all-time meetings. They have won four of seven in Columbus.

Pittsburgh kicks off a three-game road trip tonight after playing nine of its first 14 at home, while the Blue Jackets' next four games are on home ice.

Fleury improved to 4-1-1 with a 2.52 goals against average versus the Blue Jackets and could give way tonight to backup Jeff Zatkoff. The rookie, though, has allowed 10 goals on 55 shots in losing his first two career starts.

Bobrovsky fell to 5-4-1 with a 3.05 GAA in his career versus the Penguins, while McElhinney was facing them for the first time.
