Canucks edge Canadiens in OT
Oct 31, 2014 - 6:37 AM Vancouver, BC (SportsNetwork.com) - Daniel Sedin scored the winner at 2:45 of overtime to lift the Vancouver Canucks to a 3-2 win over the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday.Skating on a power play as Tom Gilbert was called for interference, Henrik Sedin brought the puck into the offensive end and cut over to the middle before dishing it low to the right circle where Daniel quickly shifted to the forehand and snapped the puck into the left corner for the win.
Nick Bonino and Brad Richardson scored for the Canucks, who have won three straight. Ryan Miller made 23 stops in the win.
"It was a fun game to play," said Miller.
Alex Galchenyuk and Max Pacioretty scored for the Canadiens, who have lost two of three. Carey Price stopped 27 shots in the loss.
"It didn't look like it on the scoreboard but we came out with a lot of jump tonight," said Pacioretty. "There's a lot of positives to take from this trip."
The game stayed scoreless until 8:29 of the second when the Canucks took the lead as Bonino and Derek Dorsett executed a give-and-go with Bonino finishing off the play with a tuck-in from the right side.
Vancouver made it a 2-0 game at 2:17 of the third as Richardson's shot on the fly from the right wing found the back of the net.
Montreal, though, would rally to send the game to overtime.
At 12:11, the Habs finally got on the board as P.K. Subban sent a shot on net from the right point that Galchenyuk tipped in for his fourth of the season.
With 2:33 to play, the team tied the game as confusion in the Vancouver end saw Dale Weise send a pass from the left circle to the right where Pacioretty wristed it home.
