Wild edge Flyers on late goal

Nov 21, 2014 - 6:43 AM Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Jason Zucker scored with 45.4 seconds remaining in the third period to lift the Minnesota Wild to a 3-2 win over the Philadelphia Flyers at Wells Fargo Center.

Marco Scandella and Nino Niederreiter both had a goal and one assist for the Wild, who posted a season-high fourth straight win. Darcy Kuemper stopped 37 Flyers shots in just the Wild's third win in 10 all-time trips to Philadelphia.

"I felt good, coming on the road into this building with a real hungry team I felt I was going to have to be good tonight," Kuemper said.

Claude Giroux tied the game on a Philadelphia power play with 3:30 remaining in regulation. Mark Streit also scored and Ray Emery made 26 saves for the Flyers, who have dropped four games in a row.

"Of course it's a tough way to lose," said Giroux. "We played the right way the whole game and gave ourselves a chance to win."

Scandella broke a 1-1 tie with a big blast from the left circle that beat Emery high on the glove side 1:42 into the third.

The Flyers got a late power play opportunity when defenseman Nate Prosser closed his hand on the puck with 3:56 left. It didn't them long to convert, as Giroux one-timed Brayden Schenn's backhand pass in from the left circle.

Zucker was uncovered at the right side of the net, however, and hammered home Ryan Suter's cross-ice pass through the crease for the game-winner.

The Wild were outshot 14-6 in the first period despite having two power plays to the Flyers' none.

Niederreiter opened the scoring on a power play, beating Emery on a one-timer from the left circle at 10:59 of the second period. It was Minnesota's first power-play goal on the road this season, ending an 0-for-32 drought.

Philadelphia pulled even when Streit scored from the slot off a Vincent Lecavalier pass with 5:29 remaining in the second.

Game Notes

Eric Lindros and John LeClair were inducted into the Flyers Hall of Fame during a pregame ceremony. Mikael Renberg, who formed the "Legion of Doom" line with Lindros and LeClair, presented the busts to the honorees ... Flyers defensemen Andrew MacDonald and Luke Schenn both returned to the lineup. MacDonald had missed 10 games with a lower-body injury, while Schenn had sat out three games with an upper-body injury.
