Dubnyk helps Wild shut out Blackhawks

Feb 4, 2015 - 1:53 PM St. Paul, MN (SportsNetwork.com) - Devan Dubnyk turned away 24 shots for his fourth shutout of the season to lead the Minnesota Wild in a 3-0 win over the Chicago Blackhawks.

Mikko Koivu had a goal and an assist while Jason Zucker and Mikael Granlund also scored for the Wild, who have ripped off four straight wins.

"Coming in mid-season is always an interesting thing," said Dubnyk. "It feels right for me to be here and we'll keep working at it and see how things go moving forward."

Since being acquired by Minnesota from Arizona, Dubnyk is 6-1-0 with three shutouts.

Corey Crawford allowed all three goals on 43 shots for the Blackhawks, who have gone just 2-3-0 during a seven-game road trip.

"We've had a couple of tough games and this is one of them," said Chicago head coach Joel Quenneville. "The few times we were able to get rushed they'd take the puck away from us and go the other way."

Minnesota got the only goal it needed 7:40 in as Koivu was able to jam in his second chance down low for his eighth goal of the season.

It was a 2-0 game just 2:20 later as Zucker took a long feed from Marco Scandella to go on a clean break. Cutting down the middle, Zucker pulled it to the backhand and lifted the puck in for his 18th of the season.

At 14:12 of the second period, the Wild scored again as Zach Parise sent a pass from the left boards to the slot where Granlund one-timed it from one knee for his fifth of the season.

Dubnyk polished off the shutout with 10 saves in the final period.
