Avs come through for needed win over Canucks

Reto Berra stopped 33 shots in the win.
"We were skating well tonight," said Avs coach Patrick Roy. "It was probably one of our best (first two periods) of the season. They were fun to watch."
Yanick Weber tallied Vancouver's lone goal, with Eddie Lack making 34 saves in defeat. The Canucks had their three-game winning streak halted.
"They won battles. We didn't play desperate enough," said Weber.
After a scoreless first period, Iginla opened the scoring 3:23 into the second. Landeskog circled the net following a rebound and whipped a shot on goal that the veteran tipped in for a 1-0 lead.
Landeskog forced a turnover in the Canucks zone midway through the second and was denied by Lack, but Colorado's Zach Redmond sent a shot on net that went wide and the rebound bounced off the boards to Tanguay, who fired it in for a 2-0 edge.
Vancouver's Ronalds Kenins went to the box for hooking moments later and the Avs made it count, with Tanguay finding Landeskog for the power-play tally that sent the visitors into intermission with a 3-0 lead.
Weber got the Canucks on the board early in the third with his power-play goal, but Vancouver could not solve Berra the rest of the way. Mitchell added an empty-net goal in the final minute to ensure victory for the Avs.
