Kings eye fourth straight win

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) - Not much was expected from the Los Angeles Kings this season. However, with a win on Saturday, they will do something they haven't done since March 2006.

The Kings eye a four-game winning streak for the first time in over a year when they host the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday.

Los Angeles has won three straight and four of five after dropping five of its five six to open the season. The winning streak is the team's longest since a five-game run from February 11-March 7, 2006.

While offense has not been a problem - the Kings' 35 goals scored this season is the fourth most in the NHL - it has been the recent and unexpected solid play in net lately that has allowed Los Angeles to flourish.

Jason LaBarbera has started in each of the Kings' last three wins and has yielded just three goals in that time, even collecting his second career shutout on Tuesday against the Nashville Predators.

Edmonton will look to improve on its 1-4-0 road record. In their four losses away from home, the Oilers have scored a total of four goals - a fact that left wing Raffi Torres, who had three assists against the Minnesota Wild in Thursday's 5-4 win, will try to change.
