Horcoff, Oilers hope to end struggles

ANAHEIM, California (Ticker) -- Shawn Horcoff will look to get the Edmonton Oilers back on track when they visit the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday.

The Oilers currently reside in the cellar of the Northwest Division and have lost seven of their last nine games. They are just 1-5-0 on the road this season.

Horcoff leads the club with four goals and 10 points this season. He has not fared to well against the Ducks in his career, tallying three goals in 19 contests.

Edmonton will also need an improved performance from goaltender Dwayne Roloson, who stopped 27 of the 31 shots he faced in Saturday night's 4-1 setback to the Los Angeles Kings. The 38-year-old has lost three of his last four starts, surrendering 15 goals over that stretch.

The Oilers may be helped by Jarrett Stoll showing signs that he is returning to form. Stoll tallied on the power play Saturday, ending an 18-game scoring drought. It also marked the club's first power-play goal on the road this season.

On the other side of the rink, Dustin Penner makes his return to Edmonton after signing with Anaheim in the offseason. Penner has managed just two goals and three assists this season.

Penner was a big part of the Ducks' Stanley Cup run last season, notching 29 tallies and 45 points. The third-year pro also scored three goals and eight points during the 2007 postseason.

Anaheim's title defense is not off to a good start, mainly because of a lack of offensive production. The Ducks have managed just three goals over their current three-game losing skid.

The club's 2.08 goals per game ranks 28th in the NHL. Ryan Getzlaf leads the Ducks with 10 points and Corey Perry has a team-high five goals on the season.
