Red Wings go for sixth straight win against Oilers

EDMONTON, Alberta (Ticker) - The Detroit Red Wings will be going for their sixth straight win when they take on the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday.

The Red Wings have the best record and the highest-scoring offense in the Western Conference and are led by a stellar first line.

Henrik Zetterberg leads the league with 12 assists and 21 points and is accompanied by Tomas Holmstrom, who has eight goals and six assists, and Pavel Datsyuk - who has 11 assists. The trio combined for four points in the Red Wings' 4-2 victory over the Oilers on October 8.

In order to slow down the potent Detroit offense, the Oilers will have to find a solution defensively as Edmonton ranks last in the Western Conference, allowing 3.33 goals per game.

The Oilers, who rank 27th in the league in scoring offense, are led by Shawn Horcoff. Horcoff has four goals and 11 points and is the only player with double-digit points on the team.

Edmonton also has struggled with the man-advantage, scoring on just three of 48 power-play chances - which ranks dead last in the league.

The Oilers have lost seven of the last 10 games following a 2-0 start to the season.
