Kings looking to sweep two-game set vs. Sharks

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- The Los Angeles Kings go for a sweep of the home-and-home series against the San Jose Sharks on Saturday night.

The Kings took the first game, 5-2, on Friday as Michael Cammalleri scored a goal and added two assists.

Cammalleri has proved quite the offensive spark for the Kings this season, collecting 11 goals and five assists in his first 14 games this season. The 25-year-old left wing is off to a great start after finishing the 2006-07 campaign with career highs of 34 tallies and 46 helpers.

Los Angeles has needed the help on the front line this season as its play in the crease has been less than desired.

The Kings are still trying to decide on a permanent starting goaltender as neither Jason LaBarbera nor Jonathan Bernier have solidified the top spot.

LaBarbera appears to have the edge, posting a 2.20 goals-against average and a .923 save percentage. However, the 27-year-old Canadian is just 4-3-0 for the season.

The Sharks have struggled of late, losing three of their last four contests. Despite the recent woes, San Jose sits right behind Los Angeles for second place in the Pacific Division.

The Sharks have won eight of their last 10 home meetings with the Kings.
