High-scoring Red Wings set to face Predators

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) - The Detroit Red Wings are back on track and ready to roll.

The Red Wings visit the Nashville Predators on Thursday looking for a third straight win after a three-game slide last week.

The highest-scoring team in the Western Conference with 72 goals in 21 games, Detroit failed to put more than three tallies on the board in three games last week, suffering their first consecutive losses of the season.

But the last two games have brought new life to the Red Wings, who beat Columbus, 5-4, on Sunday and St. Louis, 3-0, on Wednesday.

Detroit turned up the defensive pressure at home against the Blues, holding them to just 12 shots in the contest to help netminder Chris Osgood notch his first shutout of the season and the 44th of his career.

The Predators are coming off back-to-back losses to St. Louis, dropping a 3-2 shootout decision here on Saturday before losing 2-1 on the road on Monday.

They scored at least four goals per game during a three-game winning streak before the losses to the Blues.

Detroit won the only meeting between the teams this season, 3-2 in a shootout on November 7.
