Maple Leafs looking to end woes vs. Canadiens

TORONTO (Ticker) - The Toronto Maple Leafs try to end a three-game losing streak when they host the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday.

The Maple Leafs woes are due in part to a sudden lack of goal scoring, failing to net more than three tallies in any of their last 12 games - including a 5-1 setback to the Phoenix Coyotes on Saturday.

Goaltender Andrew Raycroft started but was pulled after allowing two goals on seven shots. Vesa Toskala was marginally better, surrendering three goals while making 27 saves.

Toskala, who is 6-8-2 this season, hasn't been able to assert himself as the starting goalie this season, posting a 3.19 goals-against average with a .895 save percentage. Raycroft hasn't been much better, registering a 3.50 GAA with a .882 save percentage while going 2-3-2 this season.

The Canadiens have been dealing with their own struggles dropping two straight games for the first time this season to the Buffalo Sabres over the weekend.

Montreal has now lost five of its last eight games after enduring a 3-0 loss to Buffalo on Sunday.
