Flames, Panthers seeking consecutive wins

SUNRISE, Florida (Ticker) -- Miikka Kiprusoff and the Calgary Flames try to win back-to-back games for the fourth time this season Tuesday when they visit the Florida Panthers for the first time in nearly five years.

After ending November with three straight losses, the Flames have alternated wins and losses over their first four games in December and opened their season-high six-game road trip with Sunday's 3-2 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks.

Kiprusoff made 35 saves, improving to 2-0-1 over his last three games.

The 2005-06 Vezina Trophy winner, Kiprusoff is still searching for his first shutout of this season after logging 17 over the last two campaigns - tied with Martin Brodeur of the New Jersey Devils for the most in the NHL.

The Panthers look to end a five-game homestand with consecutive wins after posting a 3-0 victory over the New York Islanders on Friday.

Tomas Vokoun made 25 saves to record his first shutout of the season.

Vokoun snapped a three-game losing streak and rebounded from Wednesday's performance against the Ottawa Senators, when he was pulled after allowing two goals on five shots in the first eight minutes of the contest.

The Panthers have not hosted the Flames since posting a 3-0 victory here on November 9, 2002. The Flames have won the last two meetings between the clubs, both coming in Calgary.
