Stars face Sharks with Pacific Division lead at stake

SAN JOSE, California (Ticker) - Throw out home-ice advantage when the Dallas Stars face the San Jose Sharks.

The Sharks look to defeat the Stars for a fourth time this season when the teams meet Saturday.

San Jose has picked up three road wins over Dallas this season. In the meeting here, Mike Modano scored twice to lead the Stars to a 3-1 win on November 7.

Joe Thornton continues to pace the Sharks, leading the team with 38 points (13 goals, 25 assists).

On Thursday, the Sharks won for the sixth time in seven games as they cruised to a 5-2 victory over the Vancouver Canucks.

The Stars have won two straight, including a 4-1 victory over Los Angeles on Thursday.

Dallas features a balanced attack on as five players have 10 or more goals and three players have 30 or more points. Center Mike Ribeiro leads the Stars in goals (15) and points (31).
