Ducks look to keep rolling against struggling Coyotes
Nov 3, 2006 - 3:26 PM Phoenix (3-9-0) at Anaheim (9-0-4) 10:00 pm ESTANAHEIM, California (Ticker) - One of only two NHL clubs not to have lost in regulation, the Anaheim Ducks look to continue their strong start when they host the struggling Phoenix Coyotes on Friday.
The Ducks are coming off a 4-3 overtime setback to the New York Rangers on Wednesday.
Teemu Selanne, Chris Pronger and Ryan Getzlaf gave the Ducks a 3-2 lead, but allowed the Rangers to tie the game early in the third period before New York superstar Jaromir Jagr won the game in overtime.
Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 30 saves for Anaheim, which was blanked in six power-play opportunities.
The Coyotes, who have lost five of their last six games, also lost to the Rangers in their last contest, a 7-3 setback on Saturday.
Matt Jones gave the Coyotes a 1-0 lead early in the first period, but the Rangers took over with six straight tallies.
Patrick Fischer and Fredrik Sjostrom also scored for Phoenix, which went scoreless in six tries on the power play.
