Predators continue late playoff push

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) - The Nashville Predators continue their final push toward the postseason when they host the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday.

Nashville snapped a dismal 1-5-0 stretch with a 2-1 shootout victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday. Dan Ellis made 37 saves in the victory while Jason Arnott notched his 27th goal of the season for the Predators.

Nashville (37-31-8) is 10th in the Western Conference, four points behind the Vancouver Canucks (38-27-10) and Colorado Avalanche (40-31-6) - both tied for eighth place with 86 points.

The Blue Jackets look to snap a two-game losing streak on Tuesday after they were swept during a home-and-home series against the Detroit Red Wings.

Columbus scored just once during a two-goal setback on Wednesday before registering a home franchise-low 12 shots during a 4-1 loss to the Red Wings on Saturday.
