ST. LOUIS (Ticker) - The Nashville Predators begin a home-and-home series with the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday, on the outside of the playoff picture.

Nashville is currently in ninth place of the Western Conference, but is just one point behind Vancouver (39-30-10) with each team having three games left to play.

The Predators had a three-game winning streak snapped in Sunday's 1-0 overtime loss to Detroit.

The loss also ended a streak for hot-handed goaltender Dan Ellis, who had held the opposition scoreless over a stretch of 233 minutes and 39 seconds, including a pair of shutouts.

The Predators have won the last three contests against the Blues, who are 3-13-3 in their last 19 games.

St. Louis is coming off a 4-3 loss to Chicago on Saturday, despite the second straight three-point game from Brad Boyes.

The right wing had one goal and two assists against the Blackhawks after scoring twice with an assist in Friday's 4-3 overtime win against Detroit.
