Rangers, Devils clash with home-ice advantage on the line

NEWARK, New Jersey (Ticker) - The New York Rangers and New Jersey Devils know that they are facing each other in the first round of the playoffs. But the location of Game One - and perhaps more importantly Game Seven - is still up for grabs.

The Rangers hope to climb past the Devils and sweep the eight-game season series when the two teams meet in the regular-season finale on Sunday.

New York, which is currently in fifth place and trails New Jersey by one point, will earn home-ice advantage with a win in regulation. The Devils would keep the fourth seed with a win or an overtime/shootout loss.

The Rangers have won all seven meetings - including three beyond regulation - with the Devils this season.

New York is coming off a 4-3 overtime loss to the New York Islanders on Friday. Captain Jaromir Jagr scored for the third straight game in the setback, and has four tallies and four assists in his last four games.

New Jersey had won three straight games but is coming off a 3-0 setback to Philadelphia on Friday.

The loss was the 11th time the Devils have been shutout this season.
