Canadiens hope for more sparks against Bruins
Feb 1, 2009 - 12:02 PM Boston (36-8-6) at Montreal (27-15-6), 2:00 p.m. ESTMONTREAL (Ticker) -- The Montreal Canadiens look to build off their latest win when they host the Boston Bruins in a battle of "Original Six" rivals on Sunday.
After suffering through a four-game losing streak, the Canadiens earned some relief from their struggles by posting a 4-3 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday.
Still recovering from an ankle injury that kept him sidelined for eight contests, Carey Price stopped 23 shots after having allowed five goals apiece in consecutive outings.
Montreal is 12-1-1 at home against Boston since October 18, 2005.
Meanwhile, Boston is coming off a 1-0 victory over the New York Rangers on Saturday that saw rookie Tuukka Rask make 35 saves for his first career shutout.
The 21-year-old started in order to give starter Tim Thomas a rest while fellow netminder Manny Fernandez continues to recover from an injury.
Rask was supported by Marc Savard's tally as the Bruins won for the third time in four games and improved to 29-5-5 against East foes.
