Selanne, Ducks set to host Sabres

ANAHEIM, California (Ticker) -- Teemu Selanne is back, setting records and making an impact for the Anaheim Ducks.

Selanne will try to lead the Ducks to back-to-back wins when they square off against the Buffalo Sabres on Monday.

After missing 17 games with a lacerated thigh, Selanne scored his first goal since coming back Saturday to snap a tie just over five minutes into the third period as Anaheim skated to a 4-3 victory over the Colorado Avalanche.

The 38-year-old Selanne also became Anaheim's career leader with 617 games played, surpassing Steve Rucchin.

All-Stars Ryan Getzlaf and Scott Niedermayer each had a goal and two assists Saturday for the Ducks, who have not won consecutive games since January 4-6.

It won't be easy for Anaheim in this one against Ryan Miller, who made 28 saves as the Sabres used an offensive spurt in the second period to post a 2-0 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes on Saturday.

Tim Connolly and Daniel Paille each tallied in the middle session for Buffalo, which is wrapping up a six-game road swing. The Sabres have posted a 3-2-0 record during the trip.

"I think Ryan Miller did a great job," Connolly said. "He took away all their first shots and all their great chances and we were able to clean up the second and third chances."
