Final - 2OT
Bruins look to keep rolling on the road
Feb 5, 2009 - 11:22 AM Boston (38-8-6) at Ottawa (17-25-7), 7:00 p.m. ESTOTTAWA (Ticker) -- The Boston Bruins aim for the 11th win in their last 12 road games when they visit the lowly Ottawa Senators on Thursday.
Boston, which is 19-3-3 at home, is a league-best 19-5-3 on the road - where it has lost once since December 12.
The Bruins, who are 9-1-2 in their last 12 games overall, continue to put distance between themselves and the rest of the Eastern Conference. Boston currently holds a 12-point lead over second-place Washington (33-15-4).
David Krejci and defenseman Dennis Wideman scored 35 seconds apart early in the third period on Wednesday as Boston posted a 3-1 victory at Philadelphia.
Tim Thomas made 25 saves for the Bruins, who have outscored opponents, 7-2, during their current three-game winning streak.
The Senators, who have a league-low 116 goals this season, have lost their last three games, two of them by shutout.
Taking over for Craig Hartsburg, interim coach Cory Clouston watched his club fall to the Los Angeles Kings, 1-0, on Tuesday. Michal Handzus scored with 2:39 remaining and Jonathan Quick made 29 saves for Los Angeles.
