Rangers hope to get offense on track vs. Stars

DALLAS (Ticker) -- Known as a defensive-minded team, the New York Rangers' lack of scoring is hurting them.

The Rangers will look to get their offense rolling and snap a three-game losing streak when they visit the Dallas Stars on Friday.

New York managed to pick up a point in its last contest as Markus Naslund scored the tying goal with 11 seconds left in regulation during Tuesday's 2-1 shootout loss to the Atlanta Thrashers.

Naslund's team-leading 16th goal of the season snapped the club's scoreless streak at 125 minutes, 54 seconds.

"I can't just pinpoint one thing," Naslund said of the scoring slump. "The way to get out of this is to simplify it and just drive to the net and get rebounds."

The Stars had their season-best, five-game winning streak snapped with a 3-2 loss to the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday.

Steve Ott and Loui Eriksson scored and defenseman Matt Niskanen notched two assists for Dallas, which had outscored its opponents 20-7 during the winning streak.
