Ducks continue season-long road trip in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio (Ticker) -- The Anaheim Ducks will try to end their recent struggles against one of the teams they are chasing.

The Ducks will look to snap a three-game losing streak when they face the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday.

Anaheim comes in off a 5-2 loss to the defending champion Detroit Red Wings on Friday.

Ryan Getzlaf and Rookie Bobby Ryan tallied for the Ducks, who are in danger of missing the playoffs just two years removed from a Stanley Cup title. Anaheim trails the eighth-place Edmonton Oilers by one point in the Western Conference.

The surging Blue Jackets sit in sixth place in the West, hoping to hang on and make the postseason for the first time in franchise history.

Columbus earned a 4-3 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday as captain Rick Nash scored the decisive goal in the shootout after recording a tally and an assist in regulation.

R.J. Umberger and Kristian Huselius scored and Manny Malhotra added a pair of assists for the Blue Jackets, who improved to 6-0-1 over their last seven games.
