Lundqvist looking to help Rangers bounce back

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) -- After receiving a well-deserved game off, All-Star Henrik Lundqvist will return to the crease as the New York Rangers face the Nashville Predators on Thursday.

Lundqvist, who led the Rangers to three straight wins, was given the night off for Monday's 3-0 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes. It was the seventh time New York had been shut out this season.

A Vezina Trophy finalist last season, Lundqvist has posted a 29-20-7 record with a 2.50 goals-against average and two shutouts on the campaign. The ninth-place Rangers will count on Lundqvist to get them back into the Eastern Conference playoff picture.

The Predators, who sit in eighth place in the West, are coming off a 2-1 loss to the Washington Capitals on Tuesday.

Defenseman Ryan Suter scored his sixth goal of the season as Nashville had its five-game home winning streak snapped. Dan Ellis got the start in net in place of Pekka Rinne, who missed the game due to illness, and stopped 42 shots.
