Less dudes, Vegas race top F1 wish-list
Mar 23, 2017 - 6:18 AM Lewis Hamilton wants less dudes.Daniel Riccardio wants a Las Vegas grand prix.
Fernando Alonso wants equal engines.
Ask three Formula One drivers want they wish for in their sport, get three different answers.
The question was put to the trio at a media conference in Melbourne on Thursday, the eve of the Australian grand prix.
If you had one wish for F1, what would it be?
"A race in Vegas," Ricciardo said, flashing his trademark smile.
Hamilton followed the Australian's lead. "A Miami race," the Englishman said.
Then he added another wish, regarding the domain of teams and drivers at F1 circuits around the world, known as the paddock.
"More ladies in the paddock," Hamilton said.
"More paddock access to some women. There's too many dudes in the paddock."
Alonso concurred. Then added his own wish: "Equal engines for everyone."
Hamilton, powered by Mercedes' AMG High Performance engine, interjected.
"I don't agree with that one," he said, before swiping the engine-maker of Alonso's often-troubled McLaren car.
"Not Honda," Hamilton said, before quickly adding: "I'm kidding."
