Perez leaves it late as FCD tops TFC

Apr 20, 2014 - 2:40 AM Frisco, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Blas Perez scored the winning goal in the 88th minute to lead FC Dallas to a 2-1 comeback win over Toronto FC at Toyota Stadium on Saturday.

Issey Nakajima-Farran scored after 21 minutes to put Toronto in front, while Matt Hedges equalized before the break to even the match at 1-1.

Perez then came off the bench in the second half and scored from close range after a flicked header from Hedges on Stephen Keel's free kick.

Dallas has now claimed four wins from its last five games, while TFC is headed in the opposite direction with three defeats from its last four outings.

Nakajima-Farran tallied the opening goal after his initial effort was saved by goalkeeper Chris Seitz as he followed up the play and scored on the rebound.

However, Hedges got up to head home the equalizer in the 37th minute from Michel's corner kick.

Perez entered the contest in the 70th minute for David Texeira and he made the most of the opportunity by getting into a good position in front of goal and getting a foot onto the header from Hedges to redirect it past goalkeeper Julio Cesar.
