Rogers' late goal lifts Crew past Revolution

May 9, 2010 - 1:25 AM COLUMBUS, Ohio(AP) -- Robbie Rogers scored in the first minute of second-half stoppage to lift the Columbus Crew to a 3-2 win over New England Revolution on Saturday night.

Rogers scored after New England goalkeeper Darrius Barnes had cleared a shot by Jason Garey off the goal line.

Rookie Zak Boggs scored his first two career goals for the Revolution (2-5-1).

Eddie Gaven scored for Columbus (3-0-2), which also benefited from an own goal from New England defender Cory Gibbs.

Boggs opened the scoring in the 29th minute before Gaven countered two minutes later. Columbus went ahead in the 35th as Gibbs slid into a pass from Rogers and put the ball into the Revolution net. Boggs responded in the 40th minute off a pass from Kheli Dube.
