Real Salt Lake-FC Dallas Preview

Real Salt Lake (9-3-3) at FC Dallas (5-2-7), 8:30 p.m. EDT

Real Salt Lake hasn't lost in MLS play since in nearly two months but next heads to a place where it's never won.

While attempting to extend a 10-game unbeaten streak, RSL will try to snap a seven-game road losing streak to FC Dallas on Saturday night.

Real Salt Lake (9-3-3) has outscored opponents 21-4 during its 8-0-2 run, dating to a 1-0 loss at Columbus on April 24, and posted shutouts in its past five league games.

In last week's 1-0 victory over Chicago, Robbie Findley scored on a penalty for his second goal in as many games since returning from the World Cup. Nick Rimando extended his team-record shutout streak to 498 minutes in Salt Lake's second road win in six tries.

"(Getting points on the road) is something we've been working on," said Findley, whose team is within six points of Western Conference-leading Los Angeles. "We didn't do too well on that last year, and it's one of our goals this year - to improve our road record. So far, we are doing the right things."

Dallas (5-2-7), meanwhile, is 3-0-2 since May 20 and David Ferreira kept that streak alive by forcing a 1-1 draw in Seattle on Sunday. He struck with three minutes left in regulation after converting the winning penalty kicks in the previous two contests.

This season, Dallas has lost once on the road and at home, where it's 3-1-3 and has won the past two. Another win could help the team break a three-way tie for third in the West with San Jose and Colorado.

"It's a huge game for us," midfielder Dax McCarty said. "They're coming in here with a lot of confidence, but we're a confident bunch. We know at home we're very tough to beat. We're just looking to build on that wonderful goal from David."

Salt Lake coach Jason Kreis is 3-4-0 against his former team and has come up empty in three trips to Pizza Hut Park, including a 3-0 loss Sept. 26. Dallas has won all seven home games it's played against RSL and leads the overall series 10-5-1.

"It's a big one for me," Kreis told the league's official website. "I'll be honest. I have feelings about that club, and every time I go back, there's a little bit extra on the line."

Former RSL player Jeff Cunningham scored twice in that previous meeting en route to becoming the league's leading goal scorer, and Ferreira tallied the other score.
